Jonah on the Move-1st Time

To all our wishing and willing Jonah has made those first few moves as scooting and now he takes off across the floor like a bullet. He's got it figured out both at home and daycare. It was so much fun to watch him move all over the living room for the first time tonight. He's made a few inches before, but tonight he was going from one side of the room to the next and back. Time to REALLY baby proof now.

Green beans and sippy cup

Jonah has been fussy with baby food lately. So we've been trying to find things for this "big boy." The other night he had some of mom's baked potato (plain, no butter or anything) and tonight he's eating Grandma Jane's home grown green beans. They seem to be a hit!
He's also into this new sippy cup we found from a shower. It's called a "nubby." It has a soft spout/nipple and so it is more like a bottle nipple. He likes it much better than the hard plastic ones we've been trying. It's funny to watch him use it. Just water so far in it, but we might switch to something else once we get the hang of it.
Sorry I've been slacking... I'll try to post more about our days with Jonah soon.

MAMA! He said it tonight, we both heard it. :-)

YEAH!!!!

He also did a lot of moving around today at daycare. They said he scooted on his butt around the floor, like they do on Funniest Home Videos. He's been pulling himself up quite a bit on things too.

Tonight at home he was standing against his activity table and reached down to touch the floor and sit. Pretty smooth. However, later on he tipped over and smucked his cheek against the leg on the way down. He might have his first cheek shiner.? It is still pretty red and it was a good 20 min ago.

We might be wishing we weren't working so hard for him to get moving here soon. :-) It's fun though, wouldn't change anything!

Slacking

I know I've been slacking lately with things on here. I haven't had time to put the cute vids we've taken, so I'll give a quick overview and hope to get the time tonight to get them on.

We had Arika's confirmation on Sunday and he did a pretty good job in church. Much quieter than he was the Sunday before on Easter at my home church. :-) He got to meet Autumn, play with Maddox (although he was kind of mean to him), and show off for the rest of the family.
We went on a LONG walk Sunday afternoon and he loved every minute of it, talking up a storm, watching Jewel everywhere she went, and just chilling.
That night in the tub he was all giggles with the basketball hoop we have in there, loving every toss mommy made or missed. :-) (video to come)
He's become quite the climber out of the tub, he loves to STAND and will rock forward, but still won't take the plunge to crawl. One of these days. :-) (video to come)

Monday it was snot everywhere and cough city at night. Hardly slept at all, yuck! Last night he had a new experience with Mary B picking him up from daycare, Jami B babysitting until Josh got home from his first track meet (which they kicked butt in by the way) and I was at COLORS training in Cedar Falls. I guess he was kind of fussy for a little while but was asleep when Josh got home and only got up 1 time.... we think.... it all becomes a blur after awhile. :-) Still coughing, but not as bad.

I'm looking forward to the nice weather tonight, hopefully we can go out and play while the vids are downloading to my computer. :-)

2010 Easter

This is Jonah's first Easter. We made these slideshows today in our Apple Training today, thought I'd share. :-) There are many pictures from both sides, Grandma Petersen reading to Jonah, his Easter present and then many pictures from the Meyer family walk, Egg/sack hunt, etc. ENJOY!
