Labor Day Weekend 2010

We had a great time this weekend doing some work and play.
Friday evening went pretty fast as we had a cranky and tired little boy from the week and he was in bed by 7. We cleaned up the house, watched a little TV, and crashed by 8:30... it's been a long week!.

Saturday we got up and started painting! 2nd round of YELLOW has gotten on 3 of our 10 walls around the house and garage. Josh got the lawn mowed and Jonah got some good nap time in.

Sunday we went to an amazing church service and then to the Chuckwagon Races at the Big4Fair, Nashua. Jonah took his first steps chasing Aiden for his book and truck. We got really dirty sitting down next to the track where Jonah had a place to play and wiggle instead of up in the cramped stands.

Then we went to the Milkcan supper with Grandma and Grandpa Petersen and Camping Gang in Fredericksburg. Jonah wouldn't eat anything but the sweetcorn, practically climbed out of his chair to get the ear on Josh's plate. Later he had some watermelon, but not much else. There was definite evidence of his corn fed supper in the morning.
Jonah played with Landon, another 3rd generation camper, in his wagon, got some fun wagon rides with Uncle Brandon (with wheelies)- those were funny. He climbed all over the ground, in the camper, and never stopped moving. Dirty and tired he went into his pjs kind of late and crashed on the way to Gma and Gpa's house for the night. The greatest part was that he slept in until 7. :-)

Monday we hung out at Gma & Gpa Petersens, after a bath for Jonah and breakfast, Jonah got a tractor ride from Uncle Brandon. We also picked some raspberries and Jonah finally ate some. :-) He's always refused them in the past. He also had a great time feeding them to Gma Petersen.

After all our fun there we went to day 2 of the Chuckwagon Races and got VERY dirty again. It was SUPER windy and the dust was blowing. Jonah really likes to look at the horses and is getting very close to saying "horse" on command, but gets super squirmy when he gets close to one.

We headed home after the races and made it home for a much needed bath, late supper, and books before heading to bed on time. This next week may be short, but I'm sure it will be just as crazy. :-)

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. We surely had one full of memories and fun!

Congrats! Be prepared for a whole new take on life!
How are you feeling about the yellow these days?

The yellow is growing on us. We've gotten many positive comments from neighbors and random strangers who walk by when we are out painting or playing.

Walking/running has taken us into a whole new realm of life for sure! So much fun though. Have to be 1 step ahead of him with doors, chairs, or anything else to climb on or through. :-)
