Rock away baby!

I was able to go get my glider rocker last night! I searched again yesterday online and finally called back to Suite Dreams to see if they would be willing to haggle on the price. They came down to $699. I called Joshua to see if that was good enough and he said "YES!" I personally think that is still way too much for a chair, but we'd like to think of it as an investment. We got a chair that is the top of the line, so it should last until we are 90 and rocking ourselves to sleep. :-)

Since the store was open until 8pm I was able to make the drive down to Clive and get my chair before the big storm hits.

Since we had a VERY POOR sleeper last night, we both got to use it lots last night. Joshua was in it the longest and he too said it was amazing.

Teething? I think so....

We are well on our way to getting teeth! Jonah's sleep patterns have gotten worse, he is a drooling machine, he sometimes refuses to nurse, chomps on everything he can get his hands on, chews constantly on his hands, has had several loose stools, gets the dry skin rash on his face from all the drool caught behind his pacifier.... and I could go on and on.

We went shopping on Saturday to wrap up our Christmas shopping for others a random few things to pick up and my Christmas present. Josh has decided to get me a rocking chair, which I think is a BRILLIANT idea since the one we have now is loud (creeks and thumps) every time we try to move. SO the search began and we went to several furniture stores until we finally got told by a kind lady to try a children's furniture store since we need more of a nursery type chair. All the other ones are too short and I'd break my neck off if I fell asleep in them.

So, we went to Suite Dreams in Clive. There was an AMAZING chair and ottoman there for just a measly $750.00! It was originally $1100. It was TALL, it was WIDE, and man was it COMFY!
But, we talked ourselves out of it b/c it was SO expensive. Then we went to my friend Theresa's house to find them online to see if it was overpriced or just that expensive. We thought we could find them elsewhere cheaper so we hung out for a little while and then went to Baby's R Us, b/c that was another store that sold these kinds of rockers (Dutailier). We found 2 chairs that we liked there for MUCH less. The Dutailier chair that I liked was only 560 total w/ ottoman and the other was a Shermag and it was only 440 total w/ ottoman. We asked to buy both of them by the time we left and we were first told they had them, then they didn't. So... waste of time there!
Then we went out and did the final rest of our shopping and found NOTHING what we were looking for so we went home.
Then since Jonah had been such a good little boy all day in his carseat and in the stores, he wasn't so interested in sleep when we got home. Sad news for his parents.

Before I close this marathon post, I'll include some pics of Jonah on Sunday.... he was a big boy sitting on the couch and then again, nawing on his toys.
He took an interest in the presents under the tree as he was doing some tummy time, then looked at me like "what I'm not going to do anything" when I told him not to touch them with his slobbery hands. :-)

Happy Holidays! See most everyone soon!

Sleep is a wonderful thing....

Jonah slept for only an hour total yesterday at daycare, (10 min here, 15 min there) and so when he slept from 4-7pm last night I wasn't surprised. Then he was up for two hours and then went back to sleep at 9pm and didn't wake up until 5am! YEAH! I was a little "full" this morning, but it was worth it to get 8 hours of sleep in a row...

According to the babyweekly updates I get each week, he's supposed to be getting 14hrs of sleep in a 24hr period. We got close yesterday. However, he rarely gets that... poor thing doesn't sleep well at daycare at all and then doesn't at home either, some nights. Hopefully we are on the right track now.

I'm sure I shot myself in the foot by mentioning how good he's sleeping on here, we won't sleep at all the next few nights now... gosh I hope not.
Pray that sleep continues!
