May/ June 2013

It's been a LONG time since I've posted.... let's catch up.

May:
The school year wrapped up on the final year of multiple districts in our family. Josh was hired at Shellsburg Elementary to teach 5th Grade. He's super excited about his new job and it is SO nice for us all to be rooting for the same team as well as be on the same schedule. :-)

June:
Started with Mommy's Birthday and Hattie's diagnosis of Intussusception. It was a scary start to the month and not the 30th Birthday Mommy had in mind, but so glad that things worked out the way they did in the end.

Hattie started having some horrible crying fits that were just unconsolable. She didn't have teeth coming in and no amount of any comforting helped. We took her to the doc several times and finally Dr. Maggie said she wanted to get the professional opinion of a radiologist and get an ultrasound of Hattie's tummy. We had xrays done and then went to Allen Hospital where we went through a 20 min ultrasound with Hattie screaming and passing out several times as her lower intestine telescoped onto itself. This very rare, very scary disorder has never been seen by Dr. Maggie and the nurse at Allen had only seen it 2x in her entire career. If the intestine would not come back apart Hattie could have gotten dead bowel syndrome and would have needed immediate surgery.
Happy 30th Bday mom...

Hattie also turned 1 in June. :-) It was a great day! She played with family and friends, got way too many fabulous presents and had the best 1st Birthday Ever.

Hattie also got Tubes put in her ears and her eye tear duct probed open. June was EVENTFUL!!
Oh and did I mention Mom and Dad celebrated their 5yr Anniversary with a trip to Mexico? Another post on that later.
