Snowed in... lots of action (or not)

We had a relaxing day stuck inside with the snow blowing like crazy outside. Dad and I got a good snooze in while mom worked on her ISU classwork for Saturday.

Dad went out and attempted to dig us out a little. He had to dig out of the house first. There were big drifts in front of both doors to the outside. Then the driveway was the next task. He got quite a bit done, in shifts of course due to the cold. Then as he got about half done, his snowblower died. Broken... :-( At least the snow behind mommy's Yukon is gone. :-) She'll be able to get out on Friday when (if) we go to school/daycare.

I had lots of fun reading books, eating books, and just hanging out today. We watched movies, made supper, and hung out some more.

Hope everyone had a good day snowed in and will be able to venture out safely soon.

1st Snow Day

Jonah got an early visit from mom today ready to take him home. We got out of school at 1:00 and so we went home, slow and steady. It took about 40 min, but we got here safe and sound.

Daycare said that he's been a finiky eater the last few days, as well as a cranky baby. Today he ate 4 oz at 8:15. At 10:25 he only ate 2 oz of the 4 oz bottle, and then 1 more oz 30 min later. They tried to get him to take another bottle at 12:45 so he'd have a full tummy on the way home, but he wouldn't eat anything. He just fell asleep at 12:55 and is still sleeping now (3:20pm). Taking a long snooze. Hopefully not one that keeps him up tonight, but one that fights off whatever is lagging him. Not like him to be super fussy and not eat.

Hopefully a few days at home will help. I'm not planning on going to school tomorrow, I will if we have to, but the weather makes it sound doubtful. Hope everyone keeps safe and warm!

Santa and Shopping

Dad and the guys went deer hunting so mom and the women & children went shopping. Isn't that how it works? ;-)

We went first to see Santa. Jonah was the only one of the 3 that would sit on Santa's lap. Paige thinks she's too old and Aiden was scared to death. Jonah just seemed to think this guy looked funny, but was fine sitting on his lap.

We then headed out shopping for the day. It seemed to much for the "men" in the car, they pooped out on the way there already. We ate at the Olive Garden and bopped around from store to store in the mall, with Jonah in the umbrella stroller. He did really well, looking at all the people, not whining a bit. We had more trouble with Aiden wanting to walk backwards in front of the stroller so he could see Jonah than we had with Jonah himself.
He didn't get fussy until the way home, it was past bath and bedtime routine and the rest of the night was awful. We got him settled down at home (Stan and Denises). Gave him a bath, fed him, and he fell asleep around 8 on the way out to see Josh at deer camp before heading home. I didn't hang out long b/c I didn't want him to wake up and he held out until we got home and I got everything in the house.
He was up then from 9:30ish-11:30. Then up again at 12:15 and 3:10. I finally got him to sleep at 5 and my alarm went off at 6:30 and he was up before I got back to bed from peeing. So, we were up for the day.
A few naps on Sunday, a great baby in church, and an okay night to start. In bed by 7:15, back up at 7:45, up again at 8:20, in bed by 8:55 until 1. Up until 3 (yes two hours of what he thought was eat and then play). We fell asleep on the couch together and stayed there until my phone went off at 5:45. I put him in the swing and got ready for the day.

Dicey roads all the way here to school today. He screamed for whatever reason from Gladbrook to the Grundy turn. I finally got out and consoled him before turning for the last 2 miles to GC. He calmed right down once I got back there. Little fart! Hope he has a good day at daycare.

Hope everyone stays warm!

Pharoh, Pharoh

I thought this was too cute! Instead of Jonah, maybe we should have named him Moses. :-). He's obviously not thrilled that I'm taking his picture.

4 months old!

Can you believe it? He's four months old today? Look at the crazy difference of him in his swing!

Painful day

It's going to be a doozy for me. I forgot my breast shields for my pump at home. :-/
I said something at daycare about it and they said I was more than welcome to come over and feed Jonah whenever I needed to. I said maybe at my lunch time I'd swing over. Today is a tech day so I don't meet with kids until this afternoon. Any feeding I do will be in the am.
THANK GOD he is in town! I really need to bring a set of shields to school for dumb mornings like this one.

I'm going to chalk this mishap up to lack of sleep. Jonah was up from 11:30-1:30 last night. Finally put him in his swing and walked away. He had to be woken up at 6:20 this morning to eat. So we not only got a late start, but then I also forgot a vital part of my routine. UGH!

Hope you have a great day, for me, it's iffy.

Jonah 4 month visit

Dad took Jonah to his 4 month visit so I can't be as detailed as I was last time he had a monthly check up. I was told that we were doing everything right, except that we aren't rubbing his gums with a wash cloth after feedings. Even though he doesn't have teeth we are supposed to be cleaning his gums anyway to assure a clean mouth when he does have teeth. We want him to have healthy chompers!
Dr. Naeem said he needs to get more sleep at daycare or just throughout the day. Not a huge deal, but something to keep working on.
He was 13 pounds 12 1/2 ounces and 25 inches long. I could have sworn he would weigh in around 15 pounds. He's a lug these days.
Josh said there was another 4 month old baby there that was WAY bigger than Jonah. Made him look like a shrimp and his dad brought him in as well. It must have been "daddy day." Josh said they got lost together, typical. ;-)

Mom's taking him to the next one in Feb so there will be more details for sure.
