What a difference a month makes!

I was walking around the house today in my State Track shirt today... which is way too small these days, but it is just what I put on for around the house. :-)
Looking back at our blog I noticed that I wore this same shirt for a tummy picture a month ago.
Wow! What a difference a month makes!

A Surprising Weekend!

We got home from being up north this weekend and our neighbors Donna and Roger had "something for us." So over she walks with a big box all wrapped up fancy in baby paper. We opened it up outside and she has made us a beautiful baby blanket. All hand cross-stitched! She said she's been working on it for a long time.
It is SO cute and they were so thoughtful.

The rest of our weekend....
We had a good weekend at home.
We celebrated our 1 year anniversary with church, cards, and racing. Which seems quite fitting since we met at the races.
It was the first weekend of chuckwagon racing and it was pretty hard for Joshua to stand on the infield (Allison) and in the stands (Nashua). He really wants to be out there, but he also wants to be safe for his family. He says the risks aren't worth the possible consequences. We got to see and hang out with Travis W (in serious accident last year) and it was good to see him doing so well and being himself again. It's still pretty obvious what he's been through though.

Another big surprise this weekend was that we found out we are going to be uncle/aunt again! Jill is expecting another in February. :-) Grandma Meyer is going to be busy! :-)

Tender feet and HEARTBURN!!!

2 things are making this pregnancy not so much fun anymore. :-)

1) My feet are sore all the time, super tender in the mornings and after I've been sitting for a long time.

2) HEARTBURN that has no rest. I still haven't figured out what triggors it all the time. Sometimes after it has "calmed" my throat is really sore. Makes me a little nervous that there is some issues with my esophogus that might stick with me after baby is born. :-S
I guess it just needs to be smaller meals than I'm doing now and waiting longer between snacks "meals" before eating again.
The kicker is that I can eat/drink something in the morning and be fine and then I eat/drink the same thing in the afternoon and it sends my throat into fits! CRAZY!!

My child is going to be a furball and has a gastric bypass hold on my stomach! (all speculations) :-)

June 25 Appointment

I don't have anything super awesome to share with you today. The doc and I talked about heartburn remedies while he was measuring me and taking the baby's heartbeat so he never told me what they were. :-(

He said he would see me again in 2 weeks and that next time we would check to see where the baby's head is.

Looking forward to the Chuckwagon races this weekend, as a SPECTATOR!! Joshua isn't riding this year and he is going to wear shorts and sandals just to make sure ;-) I'm sure it will be nice and toasty!

Dream and Movement

Last night (June 18) I had a dream that I had a baby girl! It was a pretty graphic and then ended up having a really weird ending, but regardless..... I had a little girl and Joshua was so pleased. :-)

The baby has been doing a lot of gymnastics in my tum these days. This morning (6/19) I was sitting on the couch after breakfast and it felt like the baby did a complete sumersault inside. :-) There has been a lot more shifting and sliding of apendages across my tummy. I've found out it isn't so comfortable to get kicked in the bladder while I'm hanging out or on the toilet. More so though when I'm actually emptying my bladder. Oh the pains of being a mother. ;-)

This weekend is Brent and Amanda's wedding and Richard and Vera's 50th Anniversary. It will be busy, but full of lots of fun and memories. Congrats to both couples and I look forward to seeing many of my readers in person at both events!

June 11 Appointment

Sorry, I know I've been neglecting you all.

We had a pretty normal and regular appointment last week. When I asked about the details for you blog readers he replied with, "1st what the heck is a blog? and There is no way of knowing the size of your baby until it comes out. We can only guess." Then Dr. Hintz said that if all my measurements and weight gain all goes as they have been, I will deliver a 7.5-8.0 lb baby. Average size, but I was/am hoping for a small head. :-)

We got some questions answered about "what if he isn't around," "who he recommends for a pediatrician," and Dr. Hintz got a mini-lesson on "what the heck is a blog?"

The heart rate at the previous appointment was alarmingly low, but settled at 130 (suggesting boy) and this time it was 156 (A GIRL!)

Next appointment is June 25. I hope to get some pics on here again soon. We've been super busy with my classes and Josh has decided to tear into the upstairs bathroom to get a shower put in before baby arrives. :-) We currently have a big hole in the bathroom. I'm including pics of him conquering the tub (which ended up being enameled cast iron). It was way too big for him, but he managed I guess. See and talk with many of you soon!

Babymoon- Sat. (Derby day)

On Saturday morning it was our last day in Kentucky so we got up super early, ate breakfast and headed to the Kentucky Derby Museum for our early tour at 8:15. We arrived at 7:50 and sneaked into the parking lot before the worker arrived to make us pay. There was a big biking event going on as well, so we blended right in. ;-)

At 8:00 when the museum opened we headed up the front doors and paid our way inside. We took our first tour to the Barn and Backside with Molly. She is originally from MN, a Canterbury girl. :-) She drove us to the backside via the infield tunnel and then chit chatted with us while we watched the morning workouts at Churchill Downs. We got to see a jockey get bucked off, good for us, not for him. (JR quote). The horse took off down the track and then to the barns all on his own. It was quite the sight. Molly took us by D. Wayne Lukas's barn, Hall of Fame Trainer, and we got to see the barn where Rachel Alexandria (Preakness winner) and the barn where Mine that Bird (Derby winner) stays when he is at Churchill. (He was in NY though). Molly said that both Rachel and Bird have 24/7 security guards with them when they are on the premises. Nuts!

After our Backside tour we went back to the museum for a bit and looked over some great exhibits before we went on a Walking Tour of the grounds (grandstand/paddock/etc). It was cool for me to hear about and see the changes from the last time I was there, but even more fun to see Josh enjoy the whole thing for the first time. I've posted one picture of Josh sitting in a $500 Derby Day seat. They come in 6's and in order to sit in one you have to purchase all 6. Making this little area worth $3000 on Derby Day. We got to sit in them for FREE later in the day during the regular racing day.

We had our final 'lunch in the car' this day and then ventured back into the grounds to watch live racing at Churchill Downs. It was HOT and PACKED! Granted there were a lot of people there to watch the Belmont later on and for some pretty high stakes races (50,000).
