So, today wasn't the typical "in and out" appointment baby and I have come accustomed to.
Shirley checked my weight, blood pressure (130/90), and Dr. Hintz checked the baby's heart rate (146). Then he checked my cervix and said that I'm 2cm, 50% effaced, and the baby's head is way down. ALL GOOD THINGS!
Then he asked if there was anything I wanted to share, ask, etc. I told him that the baby hasn't been moving as much as it has been in the past, still kicking everyday, but not as much. Combined with my higher bp he decided to have me head down to OB to get a Non-stress test done. So, about 2:!5 I headed down to Admin to be "admitted" and then sent to OB to be hooked up to monitors to check the baby's heart rate and such for the next hour.
It wasn't so bad, I got to sip some soda, watch the Cubs spank the Astros, and just relax while the machine next to me gurgled and monitored the baby's heart rate.
The nurse came in about 3:30ish and said that I could go, nothing wrong, all looks great!
So I headed home with directions to make sure I drink lots of fluids, eat plenty, and to let them know if there are any changes. With my due date on Monday, they hope to see me soon. :-)
My next appointment is next Thursday (Aug 6), Josh's birthday... if I make it that long. We are shooting for the 3rd. (Sorry Jon!)
Well, that is all the excitement I'd like for one day. Now to figure out what to have for supper. :-)
Have a good one and we'll let you all know!

5 days left?
Well, we have made it to Wednesday before the due date and we are still kicking inside mom. :-)
(Much to many disappointed family members.)
I haven't been doing a lot of moving around in momma's tummy, just some here and there. It's a cramped place these days. I like to keep her up at night, squishing her bladder, foot in ribs, and laying on her nerve. It keeps daddy up and nervous too. He is always asking mommy if she is okay and/or if we need to go anywhere. :-) Mom says he needs to relax and get some sleep! At least one of them should get some sleep.
Mom sleeps in, after daddy leaves for the field for a few more hours. Seems she gets the best sleep then.
We're still working on the bathroom, mostly done, just working on the floor and toilet. Dad doesn't have much time (energy) these days with being in the field from 6am-3/4pm. I'm not worried.
Well, I'd better get going. Mom is doing lesson planning for when she is gone from school and dad is still out and about in the field. I'll keep hanging out and I'm sure they'll let you all know when I finally arrive!
Love,
Baby Meyer

Baby Shower 2
We had my second and last baby shower today at my mom's given by my aunts Elaine and Carol. It was a lot of fun for all and baby got some great gifts from the heart. I've included some pics of the main items. A lot more towels, some really nice homemade blankets, a cute diaper cake, and even some shoes for "the future track star." Brandon got us some Petersen Trucking shirts, very cute!
We are past the showers now, so I'm good to go anytime now. Not a lot of movement the last few days, some say means it is coming soon. :-) We'll let you all know.
THANK YOU SO MUCH to all of our guests and generous gift givers today. It is very much appreciated!

Time will tell....
I had my latest appointment today. He didn't check me today (sad I know) and so I don't know a whole lot more than before. :-) My blood pressure was good 98/72. He didn't tell me the heart rate either.
I've been having braxton-hicks contractions. They aren't real contractions, just practice ones... they are very random and don't last very long, like 5 seconds. Most of them have been in my upper thighs, but today I had a few in my lower abs. Lots of pressure and movement, but nothing to head North for.
So pray for what you like, I know my Aunt Elaine would really like a prayer for a date/time later than Saturday after the shower. (starts at 2pm) :-)
Have a good one!

Mom at 38 Weeks
This is mom and dad at 38 weeks of me. Look how skinny mom was in her wedding picture! She hopes to get there again! :-)
Enjoy and yes, mom and dad will spread the news of my arrival when I decide to come.
Mom hopes I stay in there until after the shower on Saturday. :-) So does aunt Elaine.

Baby Shower #1
Today we had our first shower. It was given by Jill, Brenda, Barb, Rosemary, and Doreen. We had a great turn out and everyone was super generous. We got a lot of cute bath time items (whale tub, toys, 4 ducky towels, etc), a swing, diapers & wipes, baby book, homemade rocking chair, diaper bag, cowgirl quilt (THANKS PAULA), and some cute clothes. Mom will post some picks of our gifts when she gets home.
THANK YOU SO MUCH to all that came today and gave me all these wonderful gifts!

Less Sleep, LESS HEARTBURN, and more numbness!
So, the first and last are related. :-)
The real celebration is the lack of Tums I've had to take lately. :-) Proof of the dropping of child.
I've had a hard time getting to sleep lately with my R leg falling asleep or getting weird tingly feelings in it... baby laying on my nerve. Usually getting up and walking around helps out, but it stinks to have to get up and walk around the house a couple times a night.
The baby is on the R side ALL the time, so all of you wives tales believers, that means a "Baby boy is always kicking on the right side" I guess we'll have to wait and see. :-)
Later!
