Each Christmas Joshua and I give a "trip" to the Meyer family instead of physical presents. (adults anyway). This year we took the family to Minneapolis for some time away and adventure.
Saturday we drove up, swam in the pool for awhile, and went to the Mall of America. It was a big bust due to the MASSIVE amounts of people there and the parking was AWFUL. Maybe it was timing, maybe it was insanity, but we didn't stick around long and messed up our supper schedule b/c it took us SO LONG to get out of the parking garage.
Sunday we did some more swimming... which was a first for Jonah since he refused to get in the pool on Saturday. This time we were able to convince him to at least put his suit on and then once he was standing on the stairs, Josh just grabbed him and pulled him in. Even though he was having a good time playing in the water, he was quick to tattle on dad when I went down to the pool to watch.
After swimming we got ready and headed to the Minn. Children's Museum. It was a fun time, but also VERY BUSY and I think our kids kind of got cheated a little from the experience. It would have been a lot more fun if we'd had more time, less people, and patient adults. Really more time and less people would have taken care of #3. BUT it was free since it was the 3rd Sunday of the month so we couldn't complain too bad.
There are pics below of our weekend. Enjoy. :-)
